Kendall Jenner recently shared two behind-the-scenes snippets of some on-set magic of her posing and perfectly tousling her hair in a bikini on Instagram. As one of the most followed celebrities on the app, it’s safe to say Kendall has quite a few admirers, and one of them is Ben Simmons, a forward for the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and her rumored boyfriend.
“I do my own stunts,” Jenner captioned the footage, which clearly caught Simmons’ attention. He simply commented “Come here ..” on her post. Surprisingly, Kendall, who has not publicly addressed their reported relationship, commented back with a race car and gust emojis suggesting to Ben (and the rest of the Internet) that she is ready to see him, and on her way over.
The pair has been tabloid fodder for a while now, thanks in part to their alleged on-and-off again relationship status. Last Fourth of July, big sis Khloé Kardashian posted a video to her Instagram stories, where Jenner and Simmons were in the background and getting cozy at a poolside get-together.
A week later, news broke that the pair were moving in together and shacking up in a $25,000 per month two-story rental house in West Hollywood. By the end of August, an inside source shared with E! News that “Kendall isn’t looking for anything serious.” Fast forward to the end of November, and Khloé confirmed to a fan on Twitter that Ben is “HER (Kendall’s) man.” Safe to say, this reported relationship has experienced quite a few peaks and valleys.
In the May 2017 issue of Harper’s BAZAAR, Jenner explained why she is not keen on publicly discussing her relationship status. “I’m not marrying anyone,” she said. “I’m not engaged. There’s nothing long-term or serious like that in my life. If I’m not fully, fully in it with someone, why would I make it public to everyone else? If I don’t even know what it is, why would I let the world know?”
She also added that she believes relationships are “sacred.” Jenner continued, “It’s something between two people, and nobody else’s opinion needs to be involved in it. People want to start drama. If I had a boyfriend, people are going to say all this stuff that’s probably going to cause us to break up.”
Fair enough. But, does publicly responding to Ben’s flirty advances signal a potential shift in how Kendall is publicly approaching her love life? Perhaps, but until then, it looks like this is the closest thing we have to the duo going IG official.
