Karnataka Speaker asks CM for SIT probe into audio tape

The Speaker told the CM in the Assembly to submit the SIT report in 15 days.

Karnataka Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar suggested that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy constitute a SIT to probe the audio tape where "a person holding responsible position" made allegations that the Speaker was "booked" for ₹50 crore.

The Speaker told the CM in the Assembly to submit the SIT report in 15 days. Both ruling and Opposition members demanded a probe.

The Chief Minister had recently released two audio clips – one was a purported conversation between Sharanagouda, son of a JDS MLA, and Shivanagouda Nayak (who, allegedly, is a BJP MLA), where the BJP MLA is heard telling Sharanagouda that the Speaker was on their side after he was paid ₹50 crore.
