Cersei’s Mic Drop in the Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Had Fans Both Shook and Disappointed

WARNING: This post contains spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 1.

Cersei Lannister is most definitely back on her bullshit for Game of Thrones‘s final season. Last night’s Season 8 premiere found the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms amidst a scheme to break her alliance with Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, welcoming Essos’s finest mercenary army (known as the Golden Company) to fight for her so she can keep the Iron Throne. And, because she’s a savage who won’t stand for betrayal from her own family, she hires Bronn to kill her brothers Jaime and Tyrion if they survive the battle against the White Walkers up North. #JustCerseiThings

But perhaps the Lannister Queen’s most talked-about moment of the episode wasn’t one of her grand conspiracies, but rather a rather epic one-liner she delivered to her latest suitor, Euron Greyjoy. After delivering the Golden Company to her, Euron arrogantly tells Cersei he was hoping they could “speak in private” (read: sleep together), but she tells him to wait until after the war. To no one’s surprise, Euron isn’t happy with this, but Cersei twists the knife. “You want a whore, buy one,” she says. “You want a queen, earn her.”

GoT viewers on Twitter, whether they were Lannister fans or not, praised the chilling quote. However, it quickly lost its edge when, later on in the same scene, Cersei changes her mind and agrees to take Euron to bed. Regardless, her quote got the Internet talking.

Some fans reacted with pure praise.

Others were disappointed that Cersei gave in to Euron so easily.

Many pointed out that the quote will likely end up in Instagram captions and Tinder bios; and maybe even tattoos.

Game of Thrones Season 8 airs Sundays on HBO at 9 p.m. ET.
