Blake Lively Posts Impassioned Message Accusing Paparazzi of Stalking Her Kids

Blake Lively is a popular actor who appeared on the show Gossip Girl as Serena van der Woodsen. She has also starred in movies such as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005), Green Lantern (2011), The Age of Adeline (2015), and A Simple Favor (2018).

Thanks to her status as a Hollywood star, Lively attracts a lot of attention from people. However, she often draws the line when it comes to her kids. Lively recently posted an impassioned message on social media accusing a paparazzi of stalking her kids.

Blake Lively is private about her family life

Lively is married to actor Ryan Reynolds. The couple has three daughters: James (born 2014), Inez (born 2016), and Betty (born 2019).

Despite being global stars, Lively and Reynolds are notoriously private about their family. They rarely post about their kids on social media, and when they do, the celebrity parents often blur the children’s faces.

Blake Lively accused paparazzi of stalking her kids

Despite Lively wanting privacy for her kids, the paparazzi still follow her family around and takes candid shots of them. Recently, one photographer crossed a line, prompting Lively to post an impassioned message about them on social media.

After the Daily Mail shared photos of Lively out and about with her three kids on Instagram, Lively blasted the outlet. She wrote (per Comments by Celebs), “You edit together these images together to look like I’m happily waving. But that is deceitful.”

The star alleged “the real story” was that there was a photographer trying to frighten and stalk her kids.

“The real story is: My children were being stalked by a men [sic] all day. Jumping out. And then hiding,” Lively wrote and added, “When I tried to calmly approach the photographer you hired to take these pictures in order to speak to him, he would run away. And jump out again at the next block.”

Lively explained that, for photographers who did speak to her, she allowed them to take pictures of her as long as they left her children alone.

“Please stop paying grown —s men to hide and hunt children,” Lively urged the outlet. “There are plenty of pictures you could have published without the kids. Please delete. C’mon. Get with the times.”

After her comment went viral, Lively posted a message on Comments By Celebs thanking everyone for spreading her words around. She also urged fans to make it clear to news outlets that they do not want to see photographs “obtained by men frightening and stalking them.”

Other celebrities are also trying to protect their kids’ privacy

Lively is not the first celebrity to stand up for her children’s safety and privacy—nor will she be the last. For example, earlier this month, supermodel Gigi Hadid took to social media to ask people to not publish photos of her daughter Khai’s face.

“I write this all to say: to the Paparazzi, press, and beloved fan accounts, you know we have never intentionally shared our daughters face on social media,” Hadid wrote. “Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age, and that she can live as normal of a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen.”

She added, “It would mean the world to us, as we take our daughter to see and explore NYC and the world, if you would PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE blur her face out of the images, if and when she is caught on camera.”
