Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver will suddenly look ‘a lot thinner’ on soap says co-star as she returns to filming

Sue Cleaver returned to the Coronation Street set this week as she stepped back into character as Eileen Grimshaw, following her stint on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me out Of Here!

The soap actress, 59, was back to regular duty after being granted a few weeks off whilst in the jungle in Australia last month.

Fellow Corrie actor Anthony Cotton commented on Sue’s thinner appearance in a video, after wasting away on the ITV reality series, as he welcomed back his long-time co-star.

He said: “She's back but she's a lot, lot thinner. She's half the woman – where is the other half?"

Sue responded: "It isn't half the woman.” Actor Sean Tully added: "Literally half the woman."

Sue was seen in the video she shared on Instagram reunited with her onscreen family on the soap, as she informed followers of her Corrie return on Thursday.

"I'm with my boys, where I should be. Happy days,” the actress said happily.

Sue was later pictured on Instagram Stories wearing a party hat whilst tucking into Christmas lunch with her co-stars and crew, before getting back to filming.

The I’m A Celebrity star came in at ninth place on the show, and had already lost three stone and dropped four dress sizes, before entering the jungle.

After returning home, the star lost even more weight, following a diet of rice and beans for 14 days in camp, and a daily battle to win stars for meals.

Corrie viewers were happy to see Sue back as they shared their reactions to her return in the comment section.

One person wrote: “Sue good to see you back in Coronation Street We missed you Eileen Grimshaw you’re back.”

A second fan said: “Great to see you back Eileen. The boys need you. Not the same when you’re not there.”

A third wrote: “You were amazing, Sue on I'm a celebrity…loved every minute of it this year…”

Another joked: “Nice to have you back Sue. I bet Eileen cooks better stuff than what they serve up on a challenge in the jungle. No fish eyes in her kitchen.”

Reflecting back on her jungle experience following her exit last month, Sue said that "it really does affect you mentally” in an interview on Good Morning Britain, however added that she "absolutely loved" camp life, looking back.
