Filmy Friday: With four projects and counting, Amitabh Bachchan is the busiest actor of B-Town at 77! | Bollywood Life

The megastar of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, turns a year older and wiser today. Big B is an important asset to Bollywood and he is one of the finest actors we have watched on the silver screen over the years. Amitabh is rightly called as the Shehenshah of Hindi cinema as there’s nobody like him. A lot of people look up to him as their idol and seek inspiration from the veteran actor. Big B, like the majority of actors, has gone through highs and lows in his career spanning nearly five decades. He has seen superstardom and continues to enjoy the same at the age of 77. There’s never a day when he’s off duty as the megastar is usually busy doing some or the other project. If not films, Amitabh Bachchan treats viewers with his impeccable hosting skills on Kaun Banega Crorepati, a game show which has been running for 11 seasons. That’s not all! He is approached by big brands for endorsements too.

And in coming years, Amitabh Bachchan has a packed schedule as he has four big projects in the pipeline. With this and counting, he is the busiest actor of B-town at 77.

Here’s a slate of Amitabh Bachchan’s upcoming films:

Brahmastra

Brahmastra, backed by Karan Johar, is going to be made in three parts. It is a trilogy by Ayan Mukerji and a sci-fi series. Big B will be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Dimple Kapadia, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. The film is expected to release in summer 2020.

Chehre

Amitabh Bachchan has collaborated for the first time with Emraan Hashmi for a Chehre, which is a mystery thriller. The Rumy Jaffery directorial also stars Kriti Kharbanda, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor, Raghubir Yadav and Annu Kapoor in lead roles. Chehre releases in cinemas on February 21, 2020.

Gulabo Sitabo

Sr Bachchan plays a landlord in Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo whereas Ayushmann Khurrana plays his tenant. Unveiling his first look from the film, Amitabh Bachchan had tweeted, “Is roop ko banane mein teen ghante lagte hain pratidin, aur aise haalaat hote hain jahan ye banaya jaata hai.” He was seen sporting a long beard, spectacles and a head scarf for the film. Gulabo Sitabo is set in Uttar Pradesh and is a story about eponymous glove puppet characters, Gulabo and Sitabo are from Uttar Pradesh, their story is full of local humour and songs, depicting the day-to-day struggle of a common man. It releases on April 24, 2020.

Jhund

The Nagraj Manjule directorial is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer. Amitabh Bachchan will be seen playing a professor who motivates the street children to form a soccer team. Also featuring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, Jhund releases on December 13, 2019.
