Gemma Owen teases TV return as she considers show alongside famous family

Former Love Island star Gemma Owen has teased a return to TV amid rumours of a new show with her famous family.

The 19 year old stunner, who is the daughter of ex-footballer Michael Owen, shot to fame when she appeared on Love Island last year, and is now an ambassador for PrettyLittleThing and boasts a whopping two million followers on Instagram.

In a recent interview, Gemma said "never say never" when asked if she would consider doing a TV show with her family, including dad Michael, mum Louise, and her siblings, James, 16, Emily, 14 and Jessica, 12.

Gemma said: “I mean, at the moment, I'm not sure. I think my family, like my brothers and sisters are still quite young."

Speaking to the Daily Star, Gemma went on: “So yeah, never say never, but I think at the moment it would be a bit unfair to put my younger sister in that position in the spotlight.

“Because, you know, if I saw them getting trolled and nasty comments towards them, then I feel like that wouldn’t be nice and they would worry about it. So I think for now, as they’re still sort of growing up, we’ll probably keep them quite sheltered from everything.”

Gemma lives at home with her family in their £4million Cheshire mansion, which boasts stables where Gemma rides her horse.

She has no plans to move into her own place any time soon, as she told The Mirror: "I am happy where I am, I have got quite a few things at home, I have got my horses and I am family orientated."

Although she did admit that she has considered getting a "base" in London for when she is there for work commitments.

She also spoke about the benefit of having a father who is used to fame, having been one of England's best footballers.

The star described Michael's experience of fame as "handy" as "he can sort of understand it and can get it and give some sort of good advice to help me through any situations".

Gemma's star only seems to be rising as she's just launched a new collection with PrettyLittleThing. The photos of which were shot in Dubai, where she often holidays with her family.

The brunette beauty is currently single since splitting with former Love Island boyfriend Luca Bish in November of last year.

Earlier this week, Luca returned to social media following a break, sharing a statement on how he felt "overwhelmed" since appearing on the TV dating series.

The former fishmonger shared some snaps of his holiday and opened up about his life.

"Know I don’t post often, but I’ve felt kind of overwhelmed by it all to be honest," he posted.

"The journey post Love Island has gone so fast yet I feel like I’ve not had a chance to take it all in. I feel very lucky and despite the silence, I don’t take a second for granted."

Elsewhere, Gemma said she's "working on myself" and isn't planning on getting back into the dating game anytime soon.
