Former Homes Under the Hammer host Lucy Alexander, 51, shared her plans for the new year in a candid Instagram update. While the home renovation professional admitted that it had been a “rocky road”, she seemed excited to begin a brand new journey.

Taking to Instagram this afternoon, Lucy shared a photograph of herself sporting a bright pink, red and white striped cardigan with a gold medallion-style necklace.

In the caption, she opened up to her 52,300 followers about her “exciting” new chapter.

“Hello Monday,” Lucy began. “Off on exciting travels today – I’m getting on an actual aeroplane. I’ve missed you British Airways (More travels over on my stories).

“I cannot tell you how much I loved going to Heathrow Terminal 5 again.

“It was like my old life pre-covid when filming days were aplenty,” she explained.

“Was slightly daunting to start with as I’ve not travelled for nearly two years.

“It’s been a rocky road and I’ve felt bruised and a bit battered from life.”

Lucy was a presenter on Homes Under The Hammer for thirteen years, finally calling it quits back in 2016.

She had co-hosted the popular property programme alongside Martin Roberts since it first launched, so her departure was quite a shock to fans.

The daytime TV series, which showcases incredible transformations made by experts who help auction buyers get the most from their properties, first launched in 2003.

In her Instagram post, Lucy continued: “Today is the start of my year even though I’m 10 days late to the party!! Typical moi.

“At check-in my case didn’t go through as I forgot to put my HRT [Hormone Replacement Therapy] liquid oestrogel in a bag, so freaked when I thought they would confiscate it…!!!” (sic)

“Don’t mess with a menopausal woman haha. I’d already put my coat in my case as someone must’ve turned the heating up in the terminal” she wrote, adding a hot face and laughing emoji. (sic)

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment used to relieve symptoms associated with menopause.

Lucy continued: “Bombed it straight to the shops. Obvs. This is me in a @ganni cardi as I feel I need more colour in my life!

“In fact, there is SO much more I want in my life I’ve decided. So from today, I’ve promised myself to make this year, MY YEAR…” she added with a heart emoji.

“After a rubbish start to 2022, it’s only me that can turn things around. An exciting few days ahead… meeting up with some fun people too.

“Sorry to Insta spam but watch out the next few days to see some ‘LUCYLOVES’ adventures.”

“Happy Monday to all my lovely followers and old friends and thank you for all your support – you know who you are.

“More exciting property adventures also coming and more importantly love, kindness & realness from here on,” she concluded positively.
