I’m A Celeb stars were so weak they couldn’t walk, says former campmate

In a series of shocking revelations, Nicola Mclean has revealed that she and her campmates were so weak during I’m A Celebrity that they struggled to walk through the campsite.

Speaking to The Daily Star, the model said the groups were constantly “flagging” from the lack of food given to them.

The glamour model appeared in the 2008 series alongside Blue bandmate Simon Webbe, TV presenter Timmy Mallet and actor Joe Swash.

Contestants had to be given electrolytes by the production crew to continue filming, according to the 41 year old.

She told the publication: "After a week of no food you don't want to walk, your legs are that tired the hammock was a mission. They had to give us electrolytes because we were all flagging so badly.”

"As soon as you leave. You go and do Ant and Dec's interview and then you go to Medic Bob to be weighed and then straight for food because you are starving.”

She added: “A lot of people lose weight in there, especially people who have got weight to lose, they would lose it really quickly.”

"People like Olivia Attwood wouldn't have lost much weight because she hasn't got much to lose, the same as Chris Moyles but people who have you will see it."

Back in 2019, former contestant Roman Kemp revealed what was contained in the ration packs celebs were given.

In a video on TikTok, he showed the portion of rice and beans he was given each day whilst in the jungle – which is equivalent to about 700 calories.

He explained: "People always ask me about the basic rations when you're in I'm A Celebrity… so this is it!”

“Now if no one wins any stars and you have nothing else in the day, this is all you will have.”

The Capital FM DJ continued, stating that: "This is basically your food for the rest of the day. It's not much at all… I will show you…"

Roman, who finished third in the series overall, then decanted the food into a metal container showing how little food celebrities were guaranteed.

Meanwhile, Nicola recently had her say on comedian Seann Walsh and accused him of being "insecure."

“After he got caught kissing his dancing partner on Strictly, the press obviously annihilated him…quite rightly so…”, she said in her column for the Daily Star.

“I feel like he wants to be liked…I feel like he’s gone in here as a real last resort…he needs to turn the public around and I think he’s worried that that’s not happening.”

“He seems very very insecure…”

However, Nicola did admit that she empathised with the disgraced comedian telling fans: “I feel for him….people make mistakes.”
