‘I’m alive’ Lil Tay makes bombshell statement after ‘false’ reports of her death

Lil Tay is reportedly still alive and her family has made a bombshell announcement following the news she had died aged 14.

In a statement, she claims her social media account was compromised and used to spread “jarring misinformation” via TMZ.

The rapper, 14, has also confirmed her 21-year-old brother, Jason Tian, is also alive and well.

“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive,” her family told the publication on her behalf.

“But I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say.

“It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.”

A statement was posted on Lil Tay’s Instagram account on Wednesday, August 9 seemingly confirming both her and her brother’s death.

The post was not credited to any family members, and her father, Christopher Hope, subsequently refused to confirm or deny the reports.

An influencer on Instagram, Dynasty Jenkins, also seemed to confirm the reports by sharing photos of herself and Tay after her “sudden and tragic” passing.

However, after contacting Vancouver police and family members, TMZ got in touch with Tay’s family to clear up the mystery.

“My Instagram account was compromised by a third party,” they claimed.

“And used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong.”

She clarified: “My legal name is Tay Tian, not ‘Claire Hope’.”

TMZ shared their exclusive interview on Thursday and confirmed the statement came from Lil Tay’s family and not an in-person or video interview.
