Jamie Foxx rushed to hospital after suffering medical emergency as family ask for prayers

Jamie Foxx is recovering after experiencing a “medical complication”, his family has said.

The 55 year old Oscar-winning actor, known for films including Django Unchained, Collateral and Ray, was treated with “great care” following the unspecified incident on Tuesday.

Sharing the news on social media, his daughter Corinne Foxx, 29, said the family was grateful for fans’ support and asked for privacy.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”

Corrine did not share any further details of what had occurred.

OK! has contacted Jamie's representatives for comment.

Little is known about the cause of Jamie's hospital stay, or his current condition, but TMZ reports that the situation was "serious enough" that his close family rushed to his bedside.

A source told the publication: "He's communicating now, and that's good news."

The actor had been filming Back In Action in Atlanta with Cameron Diaz as recently as Monday. 101 Dalmations actress Glenn Close also stars in the flick.

Filming for the movie is thought to have hit some bumps in the last months, as Jamie was reported to have had a "meltdown" on set, which "led to multiple people being fired".

The Sun reports that those sacked were an executive producer, an assistant director and a unit director — as well as Jamie’s driver.

A source told the publication: “There have been some issues on set and Jamie has had a major meltdown over it all.

“He demanded the problems be sorted immediately and sacked four of the production staff — as if that would magically improve the situation.”

“Some people working on it are totally fed up with how this has played out and Jamie has become pretty unpopular.”

The movie is Hollywood legend Cameron's first foray back into acting since she 'retired' in 2018, in order to focus on family life with her husband, Benji Madden and their three year old daughter, Raddix.

The little girl was welcomed via surrogate in 2019, with Cameron announcing her arrival in early 2020, as she said "she has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family".

Cameron announced that she was returning to acting last year as she shared a phone chat with Jamie to social media, writing: “Jamie Foxx, only you could get me back in action. I can’t frickin wait it’s gonna be a blast!”
