Jamie Foxx rushed to hospital after suffering ‘medical emergency’

Hollywood star Jamie Foxx was taken to hospital for an undisclosed “medical emergency” Tuesday morning, his family have revealed as they ask fans for prayers. The actor had been filming for a new film this week when he was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Foxx’s family announced on Instagram that the star was in hospital.

Posted to his daughter Corinne’s account, the statement said he had suffered a “medical complication” but reassured his fans that he was “on the way to recovery.”

But a source close to the actor described it in more serious terms as a “medical emergency” when speaking with TMZ.

The family’s statement read: “We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday [Tuesday].

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Sourced told TMZ that Foxx’s medical condition was serious enough for him to be taken into hospital.

His family also came from out of town to be with him by his bedside, sources say.

But there few details shared so far about the nature of his medical issue.

There has also been no word yet on when he will be able to leave hospital despite his family confirming that he is on the mend.

Implying that he wasn’t able to speak before, a source told TMZ: “He’s communicating now, and that’s good news.”

Foxx had been filming in Atlanta and Georgia with Cameron Diaz for their new action-comedy movie Back In Action.
