Diversity star Jordan Banjo has revealed that he still speaks to brother Ashley Banjo's ex-wife, Francesca "every day," as he declared "she's still my sister," in an exclusive chat with OK!.
Jordan, 30, the younger brother of Dancing on Ice judge, Ashley, 34, has talked about the close bond that he shares with Ashley's ex-wife, who he's known since he was ten years old.
Ashley and Francesca or 'Chess' as she's known, announced their split in December 2022, after 16 years together and seven years married.
They share two children together: Daughter Rose, four, and three year old son Micah.
Referring to the split, Jordan, who is himself a father to two children with another on the way in April, talked about his adoration for Chess, as he detailed their close relationship.
He told OK!: I've known Chess since I was 10 years old. There's never been a point where she hasn't been in my life or a like a big sister to me.
"So to me [despite Ashley and Chess' divorce] nothing has changed."
Jordan continued: "Whatever happens, relationship-wise, happens.
"For me, Chess is still my older sister. I speak to her every day."
Citing the similar age difference between their daughters, Jordan said: "Ashley's daughter and my daughter are not just the same school and in the same year – they're literally in the same class.
"So we're together all the time. But for me, you know, nothing's changed. Chess is still my big sister and obviously Ash is my big brother."
Jordan's wife Naomi is due to give birth to their third child, a baby boy, in April, and Jordan confessed that he's "gutted" that he "won't be around as much as I want to be" after the baby is born.
This is due to the star's many work commitments this year, such as his radio show, KISS Breakfast with Jordan & Perri, and the Diversity tour, which starts in October 2023 and ends in April 2024.
Jordan will be taking some time off from his radio gig when the new baby is born, as he revealed that he expects that Strictly's Tyler West to fill in for him whilst he's away.
Jordan revealed that he and Naomi, who he married in August 2022, have already decided on the name for their baby boy, as he shared the sneaky way he kept it secret from his two young children, Cassius, five, and Mimi, three.
Explaining that he wanted to hear his kids saying their yet-to-be born sibling's name, he said: "I gave them a list of five names each and I just put the actual name in it.
"If I'd have said 'this is gonna be your little brother's name' and told them, they'd be running around giving it away to everyone."
Family man Jordan is supporting Love Food Hate Waste, to encourage households across the UK to make more use of their food, rather than throwing it away, on the theme of 'Win, Don't Bin'.
A survey found that £4.5million tonnes of food that could have been eaten is wasted every year from our homes, worth around £14 billion (or £60 a week for an average family with children).
Jordan said: "In this current climate. If you said to a lot of people that they could have an 60 quid a month – not to mention the extra time that would be spent making food that isn't eaten – that would make a huge difference, right?"
