Lady Gaga‘s No. 1 fan might be her ex-fiancé.
“Chicago Fire” star Taylor Kinney gushed about the “Shallow” singer and her work in the Oscar-buzzy remake of “A Star Is Born.”
“I couldn’t be more proud,” he told Us Weekly.
Though he hasn’t seen her headline-making performance just yet, Kinney, 37, knew how hard 32-year-old Gaga worked.
“I know what went into it, it’s been a long time coming … It’s been years … to see what people go through to be in that, you can kind of let the masses make decisions,” he shared, “but I think I know in my heart it’s gonna be great. And I know that she gave her all.”
Kinney also gave kudos to Bradley Cooper, who makes his directorial debut with “A Star Is Born.”
“I met Bradley and I know that she was in good hands,” he said. “I know it’s his directorial debut and I wish all of them the best. I hope it really does really well.”
Gaga and Kinney called off their engagement in 2016 after five years together. She hinted in her documentary that her success led to their relationship’s demise.
“My love life has just imploded,” she lamented. “I sold 10 million [records] and lost Matt [Williams]. I sold 30 million and lost Luc [Carl]. I did a movie and lose Taylor. It’s like a turnover. This is the third time I’ve had my heart broken like this.”
The singer-actress is reportedly engaged to Christian Carino.
