“I think Louise is struggling. That’s why you’re seeing cryptic quotes and the sexy selfies she’s been posting,” the magazine's source claimed. “She’s trying to show Jamie what he’s missing. But in her heart, I think she’s still crumbling."

“It’s tough, especially when your ex moves on with someone young and attractive. Because Jamie now has a new partner and it’ll be his first new year with her, I think it hurts Louise.”

Louise and Jamie, who have sons Beau, 12, and Charley, 16, called it quits in 2017 after 19 years of marriage. While the former footballer, 47, has moved on with model Frida, 37, our source claimed it’s taking longer for Louise to deal with their split.

“A marriage isn’t like a cold you can just get over,” the source said. “It’s like grieving for someone. It’s particularly hard over Christmas.”

Louise, who was gifted a vibrator for her 46th birthday, recently admitted her latest album is about heartbreak. Talking about the writing process, she said: “You don’t spend 20 years with someone and not care about them still. Yes, there are good days and bad days. And the best songs are written when you’re feeling heartbroken.”

New's source added: “Friends do think she probably regrets it didn’t work out with Jamie. She didn’t realise the struggle she was going to feel.”
