Married at First Sight UK's Amy Christophers was over the moon to when she signed up to the show to find true love – but her parents weren't quite so excited.
The Cornwall-born 34 year old has revealed that her dad wasn't on board with the idea and "stormed out" when she first told her parents about her upcoming marriage to a stranger.
Speaking exclusively to OK! at St Leger Festival on the Doncaster Racecourse, Amy said: "I told my mum and dad at the same time. My dad got in a huff and walked out.
"[He said]: ‘I don’t want any part of it.’ I asked him if he was going to give me away and he said, 'No, it’s a joke. Why would you marry a stranger?’"
However, Amy said her mum was "really supportive" of the opportunity, adding: "My mum has seen me firsthand go through all of that heartbreak, and all the things I’ve been through.
"She wants me to be happy. I moved back to Cornwall during lockdown to look after my mum because she had a stroke. And she said, ‘I’m recovering now. It’s your time to go and do something for yourself. Go and find somebody.'"
The MAFS UK star went on to explain how she found it hard to find a man she wants a future with while living in her home county.
"Living in Cornwall, it's very difficult to find a man. Because most of them are married or I’m related to them!" she laughed, before revealing what she finds challenging in the early stages of any relationship.
"I’m really big on commitment but I hate the awkward conversation when you ask them, ‘Where’s this going?’ It’s the part I struggle with in relationships," she said.
"We normally have so much fun and then it fizzles out."

Cornwall-born Amy was speaking at the St Leger Festival in Doncaster and the budding sports presenter shared her excitement at being able to get glammed up for a day at the races again.
"So, it’s been a pleasure to come to Doncaster Races after COVID and everything," Amy shared.
"This is my third time at Doncaster now, and I always have such a good time."
She continued: "I love that I was able to come this year. When I was leaving London, I thought, ‘I really need my coat, it’s going to be wet and freezing.’ But, the weather was absolutely lovely.
"I wanted to fit in with the locals, too, and they never wear coats here!"
Crowds danced away into the early evening before heading home to rebook next year’s Cazoo St Leger Festival in their exclusive pre-sale window. Tickets for the 2022 Cazoo St Leger Festival go on sale on Friday 1 October at Doncaster-racecourse.co.uk.
