Michelle Keegan cosies up to Joanna Lumley in emotional ‘final goodbye’

Michelle Keegan to star in Netflix drama Fool Me Once

Michelle Keegan and Joanna Lumley cosied up to each other and blew air kisses as they celebrated the momentous ending of the Netflix show they are starring in.

Former Coronation Street actress Michelle shared the emotional scenes with her 6.6 million Instagram followers yesterday, declaring: “That’s a wrap!”

The 36-year-old added that she was bidding a “final” farewell to her character Maya, a distraught mum who is reeling from the murder of her husband Joe (played by The Hobbit star Richard Armitage).

That situation is just the beginning in a suspense-filled crime drama, during which the confused widow then spots a disturbing image of Joe captured on the nanny cam set up for her toddler.

Michelle looked elated to have accomplished the project – a TV adaptation of a best-selling book by Harlan Coben – as she summed up her experience of filming.

“Thank you to all the cast, crew & production team who made the past 6 months extra special… this was a once in a lifetime job for me and I never took it for granted, not once,” she gushed.

“What a ride it’s been. Can’t WAIT for you all to see it,” the star added.

Michelle left ITV’s Coronation Street in 2014 when her character Tina was killed off after an affair with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).

However, since then, she’s sunk her teeth into a string of diverse and challenging roles, demonstrating how much of a chameleon she is.

Michelle shared a collection of highlight photos from filming, which included a snap of her getting behind the camera herself.

Author Harlan Coben, who’s sold over 80 million books worldwide, commented appreciatively on the work for the adaptation for his novel, quizzing: “Why can I only ‘like’ this post once??”

Meanwhile, according to fans like @amy_lhickman, the snap of Joanna and Michelle air-kissing together was “hands down the most iconic thing I’ve ever seen”.

Joanna has already shared a teasing description of how the action will unfold when it comes to Netflix.

The 77-year-old actress, who is also renowned for her travel documentaries, declared to Digital Spy: “Listen, it is so gripping I can’t tell you.

“Harlan Coben has this extraordinary way of just keeping you on the hook, a page-turner, except of course, we’re going to be watching.

“Literally, virtually up until the last scene you have no idea what’s going to happen,” the ecstatic star promised.

Meanwhile, she was full of glowing praise for Michelle, exclaiming: “She carries the whole show on her shoulders!”
