Perrie Edwards Admits Mother Confused Her Waters Breaking With Toilet Accident

During an Instagram question-and-answer session with fans, the Little Mix member looks back at the early arrival of her first child with Liverpool soccer star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

AceShowbizPerrie Edwards‘ mother thought the singer had wet herself when her waters broke, ahead of the birth of her son, Axel.

The Little Mix star’s first child was born three weeks early on August 21 – and no one expected the little one, whose father is Liverpool soccer star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, to arrive quite so soon.

During an Instagram question-and-answer session with fans, Perrie revealed her mother, Deborah, thought the singer was experiencing toilet troubles when she woke her in the middle of the night.

“[I said], ‘No, mum, something is seriously happening, I think my waters have broke [sic]!’ ” Edwards recalled, revealing her mother, who was staying with her at the time, told her to go back to bed and not worry her boyfriend, who was staying at a hotel that night.

But Perrie persisted and her mum finally helped get her to hospital, where she gave birth. The singer admitted motherhood is “the most amazing experience of my life”, adding, “He [Axel] is just the best.”

And she’s now glad her baby came three weeks early, adding, “I’m not mad at three bonus weeks, as we keep saying.”

Perrie has also shared snaps of her newborn, wrapped in a knitted blanket. In an Instagram post she made on September 4, the 28-year-old singer introduced her son as writing, “2 weeks of loving you. I’ve never felt love like this before!” In the same caption, she revealed that his name is Axel Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The post has gained Perrie more congratulatory messages. Fellow first-time mom Katharine McPhee wrote, “It’s truly something isn’t it!!? Congrats and he is beautiful!!!” YouTube star Saffron Barker chimed in, “Adorable [crying emoji] So gorgeous, congratulations again xxxx.”
