I hear that her son, the chef Alasdair Gill, surprised his mother on her 60th birthday on Tuesday — by revealing that he had an inking in her honour.
Alasdair, 29, whose father was Rudd’s late former husband, the celebrated journalist AA Gill, revealed last year that Gill’s book, Pour Me: A Life, helped him during his battle with alcoholism. Gill had fought his own addiction problems.
