The authorities on Wednesday rejected all six bids submitted for the supply of nearly five million eggs a day for the Nutritious Noon Meal programme of the State government.
Called by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) wing of the State Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department, the bids were meant for a contract, whose value was around Rs. 480 crore.
Official sources say that the reason for the rejection was non-submission of certain documents by all the bidders in support of their claims.
A decision will soon be taken on issuing a fresh tender.
The tendering process attracted the attention of the media with the entry of a subsidiary of the Christy Friedgram Industry, against which the Income Tax department had carried out searches recently.
