The families of construction workers who get injured at the worksite and subsequently die in hospitals, will also get the government’s Rs. 5 lakh assistance, said Labour Minister Nilofer Kafeel on Monday in the Assembly.
Replying to the demand for grants for her department, she said at present Rs. 5 lakh assistance was being given to the families of only those who died at the worksite.
The amount is given to both the members and non-members of the Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
“Now the government has decided to extend the benefit to the families of the workers who are injured at the worksite and die subsequently in the hospital,” the Labour Minister said.
