Five members of a family were found unconscious in their house in Akshi village at Alibaug on Wednesday morning. The doctor who treated them at Civil Hospital in Alibaug said the family had consumed cold drinks laced with poison.
The family includes Ramchandra Patil (60), an auto driver, his wife Ranjana Patil (50), their daughter-in-law Kavita Patil (25) and one-and-half-year-old twin grandchildren. Swarali and Swaraj.
“While the elderly couple is out of danger, their daughter-in-law has been shifted to Sion Hospital. The children have been admitted to JJ Hospital. The boy is in a serious condition,” said Dr. Sagar Khedu.
