Arrangements for two Brahmotsavams

Elaborate arrangements are being made for the two Brahmotsavams scheduled during the year.

While the annual Salakatla Brahmotsavams will be organised from September 13 to 18, the Navaratri Brahmotsavams are scheduled to be organised from October 10 to 18. As heavy pilgrim turnout is expected for both the events, the TTD has resolved to focus on the common devotees.

Based on the previous year’s experience and feedback from the pilgrims, the TTD has decided to organise the evening procession between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. instead of from 9 p.m. The procession of Garuda Seva has also been advanced by half an hour, and shall be organised from 7 p.m.

Addressing the media after chairing a high-level meeting with the district Collector, Tirupati (Urban) SP, APSRTC officials, and HoDs of various departments, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal on Tuesday sounded optimistic that all the engineering and electrical works with regard to beautification of the town would be completed by the end of August.

Tight security

About 2,800 police personnel, in addition to 400 home guards, 3,000 Srivari Seva volunteers, and 1,350 Scouts and Guides, would be drafted for the smooth conduct of the festival. There would be an additional deployment of 1,200 policemen for Garuda Seva.

The TTD also procured video cameras, handsets, and raincoats that were required for the police personnel.

No VIP break darshan

The TTD also decided to do away with the VIP break darshan on the Garuda Seva day. Only those under the protocol category would be entertained on the remaining days. A buffer stock of seven lakh laddus would be maintained, the EO said.
