Ayesha Meera case hearing after 6 weeks

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) re-investigating the sensational murder case of Ayesha Meera of Vijayawada of Andhra Pradesh presented a report to the Hyderabad High Court on Friday.

This was in compliance with the HC direction to the SIT to present periodical reports over the progress of the re-investigation.

SIT chief Srikanth appeared before the division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and submitted the report.

Counsel for Ayesha Meera’s parents sought to know if the SIT would file an appeal over the order of a lower court in Vijayawada rejecting its petition seeking narco analysis test on some suspects.

The lawyer wondered if the SIT was following the same line of investigation as the one adopted by police officials earlier. The Bench suggested that the SIT thoroughly probe all angles related to the case and posted the matter for hearing after six weeks.

A student of B.Pharmacy course, Ayesha Meera, 19, had been found murdered in her hostel room in Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada 11 years ago.
