Gangster Prem Prakash Singh alias Munna Bajrangi, who was shot dead inside the Baghpat district jail early on Monday morning, was to be presented in the local court on Monday in a case of alleged extortion from former BSP MLA Lokesh Dixit.
Vikas Shrivastava, Bajrangi’s advocate, told

that he was brought to the Baghpat jail on Sunday night from Jhansi jail. He was kept in a barrack along with another gangster Sunil Rathi. “The incident took place despite the administration being well aware of the threats to his life,” said Mr. Shrivastava.
