The Bharatiiya Janata Party has announced its resolve to bring out a charge-sheet highlighting the failures of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government in the State soon.
The party will put the charge-sheet in public domain for a trial of the ruling party in the “people’s court” asking them to judge the performance of the government which had been allegedly hoodwinking them for the last four years. “The party could instil confidence among the people who are vexed with the dictatorial attitude of the ruling dispensation which unleashed a family rule in the State,” BJP State president K. Laxman said.
Mr. Laxman accompanied by party national general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao and other senior leaders participated in a meeting organised here on Sunday to mark the successful conclusion of the Jana Chaitanya yatra organised by the party recently. “We have given a temporary break to the yatra. It will resume after the completion of the meeting convened by BJP president Amit Shah on July 13 in the city to chalk out the course of action that should be adopted in the run up to the next elections,” he said.
The yatra, according to Mr. Laxman, revealed there was severe opposition to the government’s “anti-people” policies and the BJP, drawing strength from the spree of welfare and development programmes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government, could ensure it was the only alternative to the TRS government in the State.
Mr. Laxman and Mr. Muralidhar Rao asserted that the party had set “target 2019” to ensure the BJP emerged as an alternative to the ruling party in the State. Senior leader N. Indrasena Reddy and others spoke.
