CM inspects Tummilla lift work

He hoped that the entire ayacut of 87,500 acres under Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) in Telangana would be stabilised on the completion of Tummilla lift. He inspected the work taken up to lift water from Tungabhadra river and supplement it to RDS ayacut as intended quantity of water is not reaching the command area from RDS head works located in neighbouring Karnataka. Harish Rao (Irrigation), Jupally Krishna Rao (Panchayat Raj), State Planning Board Vice Chairman S. Niranjan Reddy, TRS parliamentary party leader K. Keshava Rao, Irrigation Development Corporation Chairman E. Shanker Reddy and officials of irrigation and power utilities were present.

Stating that completion of both Tummilla and Gattu lift irrigation schemes would provide irrigation facility to about 1.2 lakh acres of land lying between Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers in Gadwal district, he directed the irrigation engineers to complete all pending projects in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district to irrigate 8 lakh acres of land.
