Community skill parks to be opened

Emphasis must be laid on developing innate talents of children, to bring about a generation equipped with multiple skills, P.T. Thomas, MLA, has said. He was inaugurating the World Youth Skill Day observance at Government High School at Edappally under the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP).

“Even small technological breakthroughs are leading to major changes globally. Thus, talent enhancement too must be given attention, to keep pace with developments taking place in the science and technology sphere,” Mr. Thomas observed.

Advanced training

Speaking on the occasion, ASAP district programme manager Neetu Satyan said community skill parks would be launched shortly to impart international-level training. The parks will be launched at Kinfra Park, Kalamassery, and Perumbavoor.

A short film made by students was launhced by K.V. Thomas, MP. The function also saw Sijo Joseph, who represented Kerala in India Skills – 2018 being honoured.
