Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza and Bishop-designate Peter Paul Saldanha, Dharmadhikari of Srikshetra Dharmastala D. Veerandra Heggade, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, and D. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, have condoled the death of Lakshmivara Tirtha.
In a statement, Mangaluru Bishop said that the seer was popular among people and had good relationship with people of all communities.
Mr. Heggade said that the seer attracted youth towards religious practices and customs. Known for his straight talk, the seer was a Sanskrit scholar and had good knowledge of Madhwa philosophy.
Mr. Kateel said the seer worked tirelessly for the development of Hindus.
Minister U.T. Khader said that the seer was a proponent of humanity and was a “adhyatmika guru”.
