All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and newly appointed in-charge of the party affairs in Telangana Saleem Ahmed on Tuesday said the Congress would trounce the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti in the next general elections and form government in Telangana with overwhelming support from all sections of people.
“The TRS will earn the wrath of people for grossly ignoring the major commitments made in its last election manifesto such as free education from KG to PG level and two-bedroom houses to all homeless people in the State,” he said, reiterating that the Congress would make the TRS bite the dust at the hustings.
Mr Ahmed reviewed party activities in the district by holding a series of meetings with senior party leaders at the District Congress Committee (DCC) office here on the second day of his district tour.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president M B Vikramarka, former Union minister Renuka Chowdhury, Congress deputy floor leader in the State Legislative Council P Sudhakar Reddy and others were present. Mr Ahmed, along with TPCC vice-president D Sridhar Babu and other senior leaders, had extensively toured several mandals of both Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts on Monday to give a fillip to party activities in the Khammam Lok Sabha constituency.
