Don’t try to split party: Mehbooba Mufti

National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah claimed that “attempts are visible to weaken the PDP and the mainstream in J&K.”

“But she must really be desperate if she is threatening the Centre with renewed militancy if her party breaks up. She seems to have forgotten that militancy in Kashmir has already reborn under her administration,” said Mr. Abdullah, also a former Chief Minister.

“Let me put this out here for all to remember. Not one new militant will be created with the break-up of the PDP. People will not mourn the demise of a party created in Delhi only to divide the votes of Kashmiris,” said Mr. Abdullah.

Congress State president G.A. Mir said Ms. Mufti can’t blame Delhi as she herself betrayed the mandate of the people in 20014 by allying with the BJP.
