On the occasion of Vanamahotsava, the Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences (MIAMS) has organised free distribution of medicinal plants to the general public here on Friday.
A press release issued here by the institute said that medicinal plants such as Amrita, Pippali, Soapnut, Kokum, Rampatra, Dalchini, Jambu, Neem and Bilva would be distributed to the people on first-come first-served basis. The distribution programme will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on that day. Each person will be given five plant saplings but subject to availability.
The main purpose of this free distribution programme was to create awareness of medicinal plants and their cultivation among people. The institute has urged people to take advantage of this opportunity, the release said.
