A Plus One girl student allegedly committed suicide at her school hostel here on Tuesday evening.
P. Jeyabrinda (17), daughter of Palanisamy and Krishnaveni of Periyasemoor, was studying at a private school in the city and staying at the hostel.
On Tuesday, she returned from the school and while other students went for yoga class, she stayed in her room. When other students returned, they found the door locked from inside. They informed the teacher and later the door was broke open.
They found her hanging and was immediately taken to the Government Headquarters Hospital. However, doctors declared her as brought dead. Post-mortem was done on Wednesday and the body handed over to her relatives. Chithode police registered a case and inquiry is on to ascertain the cause of her death.
