Several parts of Tiruchi and Karur district received sharp showers on Monday evening.
Many parts of Tiruchi city experienced rainfall for the third consecutive evening, much to the glee of the residents. Parts of Karur district also received widespread rainfall for the second consecutive day.
Devimangalam in Tiruchi district registered the maximum rainfall of 31 mm during the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 a.m. on Monday. The chief amount of rainfall recorded in other parts of the district during the same period (in mm): Marungapuri 25.20; Manapparai and Kovilpatti 19.20 each, Navalur Kottapattu 13 and Thuvakudi 12. In Karur district, Anaipalayam recorded the maximum of 17.20 mm followed by Krishnarayapuram 16.40, Mayilampatti 15.80 and Mayanur 6 mm during the same period.
