P. Punitha, warden of a women’s hostel at Hope College, who along with its owner was booked for alleged harassment of inmates, surrendered before a court in Coimbatore on Wednesday.
She surrendered before sixth judicial magistrate court on Wednesday afternoon. Magistrate K.R. Kannan remanded her in judicial custody till August 14.
Peelamedu Police Inspector (Law and Order) V. Selvaraj said that an application seeking the custody of Punitha will be submitted before court after consulting senior officials.
He said that two bank accounts belonged to Punitha had around Rs. 25,000.
Jaganathan who had gone absconding was found dead in a well at Alangulam in Tirunelveli on July 26.
