Inspired by the life and services of the former Supreme Court judge Shivaraj Patil, his students and a group of well-wishers have joined hands to establish a foundation in his name and it is all set to be formally inaugurated in August in Raichur.
President of Justice Shivaraj Patil Foundation and the former district judge, Shekhargouda Patil, said that though retired Mr. Patil was an inspiration to many.
He said the foundation would have branches across the State to take forward his service to the society.
Since Mr. Patil was a native of Madakall village in Devdurg taluk of Raichur, the foundation would be registered in Raichur and its activities would be spread across the State, he explained.
The foundation would work towards empowering people socially and economically and apart from organising programmes in different fields.
This apart, the foundation, would also hold seminars, workshops, symposiums and honour achievers, publish books and help research students.
