A lorry driver died instantaneously after his vehicle hit a road divider and then a tree on Pune-Bengaluru National Highway at Badekollamath in Belagavi district on Wednesday.
He probably lost control of the lorry before it hit the divider and the roadside tree, the police said.
There was no one else in the truck. Ravi Siddappa (35) from Davangere was driving the lorry.
He was returning from Ahmednagar to Davangere after a delivery, the police added.
A case was registered in the Hire Bagewadi police station.
