The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday directed the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to constitute a two-member committee to deal with people who had defaulted in paying the environmental compensation.
The counsel appearing for the East Delhi Municipal Corporation informed NGT that a list of defaulters, who had been challaned for burning plastic and other material, had been drawn up for by the civic body.
An NGT Bench on Monday said, “CPCB may set up a two-member committee to look into all such grievances and take steps for enforcement. It is to be constituted within one month.”
