An 18-year-old migrant worker died after the wall of a newly expanded water tank collapsed in the Integral Coach Factory premises on Monday morning.
The police said Tata Projects Ltd., Hyderabad, had employed 250 labourers for the construction of a production shed at the LHB area near the ICF Furnishing Division.
While taking bath
On Monday around 7 a.m., some workers were taking bath in the shed when the wall of the water tank collapsed and fell on them.
Bimal Kumar, 18, who is yet to be included as a contract worker at the construction site, died on the spot.
Neeraj Kumar, 21, a contract employee at the construction site, sustained injuries and has been admitted to the Stanley Government Hospital.
“The officers will be taking a complaint from Neeraj Kumar and will investigate the accident,” said a police officer attached to the ICF police station.
Directive to private firm
According to a press release issued here, the Integral Coach Factory administration directed the human resources manager of the Tata Projects Ltd to provide all assistance to the family of the deceased and medical assistance to those injured in the incident.
