Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Wednesday said post-mortems will be performed at the Government Hospital again.
Replying to a special mention made by Government whip R.K.R. Anantharaman that people are facing hardship after the Government Hospital stopped performing post-mortems, the Chief Minister said the Health Department was taking steps to restart the service.
Additional expenditure
Mr. Anantharaman said people have to transport dead bodies from the Government Hospital to the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital.
The relatives have to bear the additional expenditure for the transporting the body to medical college, he said.
