Only 35% students have passed and 57% promoted in the degree second semester exams, results of which were declared by Satavahana University on Monday. In the fourth semester examinations of degree courses, only 30% have passed and 68% promoted.

In a press note here today, Controller of Examinations V. Ramesh and additional controller of examinations M. Sarasija said 20,029 students appeared for degree second semester examinations in May. Of them, only 6,975 passed, 11,496 promoted and 1,558 failed.
In the fourth semester exams, 17,441 appeared out of which 5,294 passed, 11,824 promoted and 323 failed.
The maximum number of failed candidates are in B.Com second semester where 1,102 students failed followed by 287 in B.Sc and 169 students in BA. Courses like BBA and BA (L) had a fail-free record.
In fourth semester, the figure for failed candidates are: B.Com (234) followed by B.Sc (62) and BA (26). There were no failures in BA (L) while one student failed in BBA.
