Telugu playback singer Rahul Sipligunj was booked for driving his car in an inebriated condition on Friday night. He was caught by Abids Traffic Inspector M Suman Kumar during a drunk driving enforcement drive conducted on Road No. 36/10 of Jubilee Hills here. The singer’s vehicle was seized and he was told to appear for counselling.
Rahul created a scene at the spot, refusing to produce his driving licence and vehicle documents for issue of challan. He argued with the police for over 45 minutes and abused them. His breath alcohol content was recorded at 175 mg per 100 ml.
On Friday, as many as 4,998 vehicles were checked by the Hyderabad Traffic police as part of the drunk driving enforcement drive in Jubilee Hills and booked 126 cases. Jubilee Hills traffic Inspector P. Balavanthaiah said that during the drives conducted at six various places in the areas, they caught 64 two-wheelers and 62 four-wheelers, including five women. “The highest breath alcohol content is 379 mg per 100 ml,” he said.
