In an interesting development, former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Monday.
The meeting assumed significance politically, though Mr. Arun Kumar said he would not join any political party. Mr. Naidu invited him to discuss the implementation of the Reorganisation Act and a letter written by Mr. Arun Kumar to him.
He gave copies of the letters he wrote to the President and the Prime Minister and the petitions he filed on the bifurcation to Mr. Naidu. The bifurcation Act was passed against the spirit of the Constitution. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on February 7 injustice was done to AP by passing the Bill closing the doors of Parliament. Mr. Modi’s comments must be raised in Parliament, he told the Chief Minister.
The former MP suggested the TDP supremo to explore the possibility of raising short notice questions on the bifurcation. The duo also discussed the strategy to be adopted in the ensuing Parliament session.
Mr. Arun Kumar later said he was neither associated with any political party nor had plans to join any. He also felt that the resignations of the YSR Congress party was not a correct decision.
