Youngsters raise voice against trafficking

Over 3,000 students on Wednesday took part in a rally here organised by the Hyderabad police in association with Prajwala NGO against human trafficking.

The rally from Central library in Afzalgunj to Charminar was flagged off by Home Minister Naini Narshimha Reddy. “More than 3,000 students from various schools and colleges in the city took part in the rally,” said Additional Commissioner (Crimes &SIT) Shikha Goel. Earlier, Mr. Reddy appreciated Hyderabad Police for its proactive role in making the city safe and secure for women.

Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar reiterated the commitment of the city police in curbing human trafficking. In the past three years, the city police have rescued more than 3,700 children. That includes 800 this year so far,” Ms Shikha said. Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) D.S. Chauhan and Prajwala founder Sunitha Krishnan were present.
