Youth held for trying to attack student

A 22-year-old youth who tried to attack a student in Presidency College was caught by students and handed over to the Anna Square police.

Police sources said Madhan, 22, of Perambur, was a trainer at a gym. He followed a 17-year-old student to the college.

On being questioned, he told the police that he had been in love with her for two years.

He said he had come to the campus to speak to her after she snapped ties with him.

And when she tried to avoid him, he attempted to attack her. Other students surrounded him and handed him over to the police, who let him off with a warning.
