In all, 3,026 students of 32 government schools in the district recently received education kits comprising of notebooks, geometry box, school bag, and an umbrella. These kits, worth Rs. 28.38 lakh overall, were distributed by Adani Foundation of Adani Group, which owns Udupi Power Corporation Ltd. (UPCL).
The programme was taken up as part of Adani Foundation’s CSR activities. The joint president of UPCL, Kishore Alva
distributed the education kits. Speaking on the occasion, he urged students make use of the kits and focus on their studies. Mr. Alva told them to be disciplined and make their parents and schools proud. “In this competitive world, education plays a key role,” he said, adding that it was the duty of everyone to contribute towards the betterment of society.
