Rocket attack at Police station

A rocket launcher-type weapon was fired at a police station in Punjab’ Tarn Taran district on Saturday. Around ten persons, including Sarhali police station SHO Sub-Inspector Parkash Singh, were present at the spot during the  rocket attack. This comes after a Rocket Propelled Grenade -RPG was fired at Punjab Police’ Intelligence headquarters in Mohali on 9th May, triggering a blast at the site. The police said that the unknown miscreants fired a rocket-launcher-type weapon at the police station in Sarhali from the National Highway 54.   The mirrors of the doors of sanjh kendra and a door scroll were broken in this attack and no injuries have been reported yet. This is 5th such incident in Punjab in the last one year.

 The police added that it was around 1 am that a projectile hit Sarhali Police Station on the Amritsar Bathinda Highway in Tarn Taran District.

 The reports are coming that the Punjab Police have arrested the main accused named Charat Singh in a joint operation with Central Agency and ATS Maharashtra. Singh was one of Lakhbir Singh Landa’s main associates and hailed from Tarn Taran district.

 The Punjab Police confirmed that Charat Singh was a key operative and associate of Canada-based BKI terrorist Lakhbir Singh.
