Man beaten to death on suspicion of cattle theft

A man was beaten to death allegedly by three brothers on suspicion of cattle theft at Bahrola in Palwal district. The deceased is yet to be identified.

The victim was caught by Ramkishan and his brothers Prakash and Bir Singh in the early hours of Friday when he, along with two others, was allegedly trying to steal buffaloes. He was badly beaten up and later died. A case has been registered at the Sadar police station and Ramkishan has been arrested.

Two accused absconding

“Efforts are being made to arrest Prakash and Bir Singh. Both are absconding,” said Superintendent of Police, Palwal, Waseem Akram. Mr. Akram said that a case was also registered against three unknown persons on charges of theft.

Ramkishan and his brothers stay in a house in the fields on the outskirts of the village. According to the FIR, Ramkishan woke up on August 3 morning and saw the trio trying to cut the mosquito nets put over the buffaloes.

While he managed to catch hold of the victim, his accomplices fled. Ramkishan then called his brothers and the three tied up the man and thrashed him mercilessly. The FIR states that there were cut marks on the left hand and neck of the deceased.
