The temple of Lord Venkateswara here will remain out of bounds for pilgrims for six long days from August 11 to 16. Devotees will not be allowed for darshan of the presiding deity during the period.
The decision has been taken in view of the ‘Astabandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokshanam’ observed at the hill temple once in 12 years.
TTD Chairman P. Sudhakar Yadhav said a slew of religious activities would be carried out inside the temple during the six-day festival period. Several hours in a day would go towards meeting the religious formalities in connection with the festival. The management would be left with hardly any time to allow darshan, he said.
“However, the pilgrims who have gained entry into the Vaikuntam queue complex before 6 p.m. on August 9 will be provided darshan of the deity either the same night or the following day,” he said.
