Now, Chavan hints at poll alliance

Two days after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar spoke to

about an electoral alliance with the Congress, the State unit chief of Congress, Ashok Chavan, said on Thursday that both parties will contest along with like-minded parties.

Speaking at the Nagpur Press Club, Mr. Chavan said, “It is true that president Rahul Gandhi and NCP chief Sharad Pawar have had two-three meetings and agreement on broader alliance has been finalised. However these top leaders cannot be involved in seat sharing and we at the State-level will do it along with like-minded parties.”
